A Collection of Art Nouveau Style Jewelry and Trinket Boxes - A collection of Art Nouveau style jewelry and trinket boxes, including a gilt-metal casket by Jennings Brothers. The primary item is an ornate gilt-metal box raised on four cabriole legs, featuring a hinged lid with a central oval medallion and relief scrollwork motifs. The base of this box is stamped with the manufacturer mark JB and model number 1208, alongside a hand-incised monogram KS. The interior retains a degraded silk or satin lining. The collection also includes a smaller gilt-metal footed box with a distressed finish and similar scrollwork decoration. The group is completed by two porcelain items: a footed white porcelain box with hand-painted floral sprays and gilt accents, and a small circular porcelain box featuring a lid decorated with a hand-painted pastoral scene. Large gilt-metal box: 4.5 inches wide by 4 inches high Small gilt-metal box: 2.5 inches wide Footed porcelain box: 3 inches wide Circular porcelain box: 2 inches wide The metal boxes exhibit significant deterioration and shredding to the fabric interior linings. There is general wear, oxidation, and loss to the gilt finishes across the metal items. The porcelain boxes show minor wear to the painted surfaces and gilt trim consistent with age and use.
