Federal Revival Brass-Tone Bookends and Eagle Figure - A trio of decorative items comprising a pair of matching bookends and a central figure, manufactured by Decorative Crafts, Inc. The pieces are constructed from polished brass-tone metal, likely coated with lacquer, designed in a Neo-Classical or Federal Revival style, possibly dating to the American Bicentennial period. The bookends feature openwork lattice tops rising from stepped, rectangular bases. The central figure is a detailed, three-dimensional American eagle, wings spread, grasping arrows and an olive branch, resting on a small rectangular plinth. The underside of the pieces bears a label reading DECORATIVE CRAFTS, INC. Hand-Crafted Imports 4970, and a warning label stating LACQUER COATED DO NOT POLISH KOREA. A circular blue stamp is visible on the felt base of one piece, featuring text that includes AMERICAN and numbers suggesting a Bicentennial theme, such as 1776 1976. The bookends measure approximately 9 inches high.
