Kakesu Collection Japan Ceramic Vase, Bird on Cherry Blossom - A Kakesu Collection Japanese ceramic vase, featuring a slender, white glazed ceramic body with an ovoid form, a tapered neck, and a flared rim. The vase is accented with delicate gold banding on the rim and foot. It is adorned with hand-painted decoration depicting a vibrantly colored bird with blue and brown plumage perched on a branch, surrounded by green leaves and pink blossoms, set against a soft pink wash background. Additional smaller foliage and a tiny insect are also depicted. The base displays a red square mark containing the Japanese characters '美術陶器' (Bijutsu Tōki), which translates to 'Art Pottery' or 'Fine Ceramic Ware, ' directly above the English word 'JAPAN'.
