The base of each tankard is engraved with the names ”Garand” and ”Asta Strömberg, ” the location and year ”München 1972,” the glassworks ”Strombergshyttan, ” and individual edition numbers, such as ”348/3500” and ”1457/3500.” Accompanying paper inserts confirm these are ”limited edition” crystal tankards, part of the ”Olympiad XX 1972” series, restricted to 3,500 pieces, and explain the design's symbolism tied to the ”Happy Games” theme.
