Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Kerman Wool Rug, Ivory Ground - A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kerman wool rug. The rectangular rug features an ivory (cream) field densely covered with an all-over repeating floral design. The intricate pattern includes various blossoms, leaves, and scrolling vines in a vibrant palette of reds, blues, pinks, greens, and ochre. The field is framed by a multi-tiered border, with the primary band showcasing larger floral and palmette motifs against a deep blue ground. Constructed from wool, with cotton fringes that are largely intact. A small white tag with the inscription '56711478 RST 7/14/8' is visible on the reverse side of one fringe. Close to 100 years old. Size 7' feet 9” inches X 9' feet 9” inches. Pile height is medium with fine weave. Face yarn is wool, warp yarn is cotton.
