A Collection of Vintage View-Master Personal and USN Training Aid Stereoviews, Albums, and Viewers - This collection comprises vintage View-Master items, primarily from the mid-20th century. A significant portion of the collection consists of ”USN BUREAU OF NAVAL PERSONNEL TRAINING AIDS” View-Master reels and their accompanying envelopes, marked ”AA RANGE ESTIMATION” or ”SHIP TO SHIP,” detailing studies of various naval vessels and equipment, including ”THE MUTSUKI CLASS,” ”HATSUSHIMA CLASS,” ”ITAGO CLASS,” and ”TIRPITZ.” These specialized reels were produced by the Bureau of Aeronautics, Special Devices, with photography by Transfilm, Inc., New York City. These reels are difficult to find and in very good condition. Lot also includes four red faux-leather View-Master albums, labeled with handwritten dates ranging from ”C.1956 1957” to ”C.1959.” The albums contain numerous ”Personal View-Master” reels with handwritten descriptions of family trips and events, such as ”Rose Parade 1961,” ”Mexico,” ”Bush Gardens,” ”Seattle,” and ”Mt. Rushmore.” Also included is a pair of View-Master viewers—one tan plastic and metal, and one red plastic—along with various cardboard envelopes and boxes for ”Personal” reels, some empty.
