Large Silver Lamp – Warsaw, 1920-1931 - Erect lamp. Warsaw, Poland, 1920-31. Silver, lathed and stamped (marked with Polish fineness marks, in use 1920-31; and with unidentified maker’s mark: ”WSZ”, possibly a silversmith of the Szkarlat family). Large, erect, six-branched silver lamp in Neoclassical design, with square, four-legged base. Architectonic central shaft in form of Corinthian column. Six branches with vegetal patterns, all surmounted by candle sockets with patterns matching those on Corinthian column. Central shaft surmounted by large sphere, in turn surmounted by ornament in form of a wreath of leaves and flowers. Additional, removable candle socket missing from apex of central shaft. Height: 63.5 cm. Width at base: 13X13.5 cm. Maximal width: 29.5 cm. Weight: 1030 g. Overall good condition. Removable candle socket missing. Minor warping.
