New York, c. 1910. Decorated with hand set stones fitted into the Torah shield like a piece of jewelry. The main theme is the 12 tribes which are inscribed below each set stone. The upper portion is decorated with hand set garnets, amethysts, and other stones in the form of grape bunches. Inscribed in Hebrew with period deduction. The maker of this shield, ”Millwood”, was a jewelry firm in New York City until 1915. Designed in period Edwardian Jewelry style. 13.2” tall. Estimate $25,000 - 35,000
