Beit Ha'Midrash near the Western Wall - Rare Receipt - Circa 1940
Rabbi Yitzchak Avigdor Orenstein, the rabbi of the Western Wall, founded a "Chevrat Tehilim" according to the request of the Rebbe Rayatz. Its members prayed day and night for their miserable brothers in Europe. It was active until 1947.
On the receipt before us there are two stamps. One of them reads: "Chevrat Tehilim U'Chvod Ha'Mikdash Bi'Mekom Ha'Kodesh Kotel Ha'Ma'aravi". The second stamp, which serves as the logo of the leaf, reads: "Beit ha'Midrash She'al Yad KOtel Ha'Ma'aravi".
On the receipt, handwritten inscriptions regarding donations. Handwritten signature.
To the best of our knowledge, this is a single remnant of the religious institution of the "Chevrat Tehilim".
Condition: Tears and flaws.
