Reciept of "Va'ad Ha'Ma'aravim Be'Yerushalayim" Signed by Four of the Most Prominent Rabbis of the Ma'aravim Community - 1917
Receipt for a donation of 800 Frank. Color printing and filled in by hand. The signatures of the most prominent rabbis of the Ma'aravim community of Jerusalem: Rabbi Nachman Batito, Rabbi Shmuel Alaluf, Rabbi Aharon Azriel and rabbi Ya'akov Ben Atar. With the stamps of the Chacham Bashi Rabbi Nachman Batito and the stamp of the committee.
On the reverse side of the receipt, a printed appeal to the philanthropist of the Ma'arvim community of the Land of Israel detailing the important actions of the committee.
Rabbi Nachman Batito (1847-1915) served as the Rishon Le'Zion and was one of the leaders of the Ma'aravim community of Jerusalem. He published, together with Rabbi Chizkiya Shabtai, the book of Exodus 'Me'Am Lo'ez" in Ladino.
Rabbi Shmuel Alaluf (1868-1933) was born in Morocco and in 1883 immigrated to the Land of Israel. He was on eof the leaders of the Ma'aravim community of Jerusalem and was responsible for raising funds and distributing them.
Rabbi Ya'akov Ben Atar (died in 1924) was a descendant of the kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Ben Atar, the holy "Or Ha'Chaim". In his youth, he immigrated from Morocco to the Land of Israel and was one of the founders of the Ma'aravim community of Jerusalem. Authored the book "Beit Elohei Ya'akov".
Rabbi Aharon Azriel , most likely the grandson of the kabbalist Rabbi Aharon Azriel author of "Kapei Aharon". 14x28 cm.
