The eulogy is for "Rabbi …Yerucham". The content of the eulogy indicates that he was one of the geniuses of the generation. The eulogy is written in a warm and touching style and includes praise of the deceased, Mussar, philosophy, commentary of the book of Job and more.
Rabbi Yisrael Lifshitz (1782-1861) was one of the greatest rabbis of Ashkenaz, well-known for his composition "Tiferet Yisrael" on the Mishnah, which was printed in hundreds of copies.
