Gold Jewish-Iraqi Amulet Chain - Late 19th century Jewish-Iraqi amulet chain for protection of childbirth (Salchani), made of gold (over 21k). With three amulet cases (with hand written amulets on parchment), an amulet set with wolf teeth, two drop shaped amulets, a Hamsa amulet and an amulet set with turquoises. The amulet chain was worn diagonally from the shoulder down to the waist. Total weight: 192 grams. Length of the chain (closed): 58 cm, length of the central amulet: 8 cm. The item was part of the permanent collection of the Babylonian Jewry Heritage Center.
