MERLIN DE DOUAI - TREILHARD - COMMITTEE OF PUBLIC SAFETY: Philippe-Antoine Merlin de Douai (1754-1838) French Politician and Lawyer. President of the National Convention and member of the committee of Public Safety. He voted for the execution of King Louis XVI; Jean-Baptiste Treilhard (1742-1810) French Stateman. President of the National Convention during the trial of Louis XVI and member of the Committee of Public Safety. A very attractive document, bearing an impressive and large republican revolution vignette, one page, large folio, Paris, 7th May 1795, in French. The document being a passport allowing the entitled citizen Joseph Cavillon to leave the republic. The document includes multiple personal and physical details and descriptions related to Cavillon. Signed by Merlin de Douai, Treilhard and Rabaud at the base in their capacity as members of the Committee of Public Safety. Also bearing several countersignatures. Small overall age wear, folded, with small repair to the verso. G to VG
