A GEORGE III AUTOMATION EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK the oak case having a swan neck pediment and brass capped Corinthian columns on matching trunk, the base with blind fret canted corners. The 12" arched brass dial having crown and cherub spandrels and silvered Roman chapter ring surrounding a foliate engraved centre with seconds dial and calendar aperture, the arch with painted face and rocking eyes surrounded by a silvered ring inscribed "Whilst Time away dos Flee My Eyes do move you See". The eight day weight driven movement with anchor escapement striking the hours on a bell. (227cm high )
