JOHN GREENALL, PARR. (ST HELENS). A RARE GEORGE III MUSICAL, YEAR CALENDAR AND TIDAL LONGCASE CLOCK. The figured mahogany case with swan neck pediment and eglomise panels above a glazed door, the trunk with reeded quarter columns on canted brick moulded base, the 14 1/4" arched brass dial with winged cherub head spandrels, silvered chapter ring shoring year calendar and winter/summer daylight loss/gain, the chequered engraved centre having two subsidiary dials for tune selection and Strike/Silent, the arch with silver name plaque above a rolling moon aperture with tidal reading fronting a substantial three train weight driven eight-day movement chiming one of five tunes on 12 bells and the hours on a larger bell.
