Two English Victorian Lap Desks - Description: Two wooden Victorian lap desks, one with brass details along the edges and a brass handle, possibly made with rosewood and features seven inner compartments. The other is a sloped lap desk with five compartments and includes a glass inkwell and has brass fittings along the exterior. Markings & Inscriptions: Unmarked Date: 19th century Maker: English Dimensions: 4.25” x 12” x 18”; 7” x 19.5” x 10”. Provenance: From a Princeton, New Jersey collection. Condition: Fair condition. The brass handle is semi-broken and some brass fittings are detaching, fair amounts of scratching and staining to surface. Sloped desk is missing an escutcheon, does not shut fully, and has some splitting to the brass fittings.
