Six 18th Century Chinese Export Porcelain Plates, Qianlong - Description: Six 18th century Chinese Export porcelain plates, one Imari, one made for the Persian market and four with blue painted and gilt rims, from the Carl Crossman Collection. Crossman?s first hardcover book, ”The China Trade: Export Paintings, Furniture, Silver and Other Objects, 1785-1865,” was published in 1972 to wide acclaim, garnering a Book of The Month Club selection. Later updated and reprinted as ”The Decorative Arts of the China Trade: Paintings, Furnishings and Exotic Curiosities, ” it is considered to be one of the major reference works published on the China Trade.
