A RUSSIAN TULA CUT-STEEL-MOUNTED WOODEN DRESSING BOX, CIRCA 1810 - Russian, Tula, circa 1810. The rectangular polished-wood box with a hinged cover ornamented with cut-steel studs and applied plaques, arranged as a leafy oval medallion and geometric border. The cover is centered by a hinged steel carrying handle and a pale oval inlay. The interior is fitted with a mirror beneath the cover and a single compartment lined in pale blue-green material.
