A RUSSIAN SILVER AND ENAMEL ICON OF CHRIST POTACRATOR BY MOROZOV, 1899-1908 - E. Morozov, 1899-1908. Depicting Christ within an arched reserve, delivering a blessing and holding an open book of Gospels. The gilt-silver oklad is decorated with scrolling foliage in cloisonne enamel. The verso has an original velvet covering. Hallmarks: 84 Russian silver standard, kokoshnik, 'E. Morozov', maker's mark 'S.G' in Cyrillic. Dimensions: 3 5/8 x 3 in., (9.3 x 7.7 cm.) Conditions: Good overall condition, no visible damage or restorations to silver or enamel. Visible areas of the icon show traces of wear and use appropriate for its age.
