AN INDIAN CARVED JADE-HANDLED KATAR DAGGER WITH GOLD INLAY - An Indian katar dagger featuring a double-edged steel blade of tapering, armor-piercing form with a reinforced medial ridge. The forte is decorated on both sides with gold-inlaid calligraphic cartouches. The dark green jade hilt is carved throughout with chevron and stylized foliate patterns, comprising parallel side bars joined by two shaped transverse grips. Dimensions: L: 17 3/4 in., (45 cm.) Condition: Visible surface wear, minor oxidation to the steel, and rubbing to the gold inlay. The jade handle appears intact with light handling marks. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
