A WW2 ITALIAN SOCIAL REPUBLIC, AERONAUTICA NAZIONALE REPUBBLICANA VISOR CAP, C. 1943–45 - Probably an NCO or Enlisted version. The ANR (Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana) was the air force of Mussolini’s RSI (Italian Social Republic), operating in German-controlled northern Italy after the 1943 armistice. The ANR mainly played a defensive role, intercepting Allied bombing raids against industrial sites both in Italy and Germany. They would occasionally provide close air support for Axis troops on the ground.
