Bidspirit auction | A WW2 GERMAN FORESTER'S (FORSTHUT)
A WW2 GERMAN FORESTER'S (FORSTHUT) HAT WITH GAMSBART AND COCKADE, C. 1930S - The Forsthut is the iconic headgear most associated with German foresters. It was a daily-service hat, but also used for formal forestry occasions. Regulation examples were grey-green felt with dark-green band and brim edging, front eagle/crest, and a side cockade with a chamois game-hair brush known as a 'Gamsbart', with this being a prime example, as many surviving hats lack the stylish brush. Germany, c. 1930s. Dimensions: D: 6 in, (15.2 cm.) Condition: Excellent, with minimal signs of age. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
