GRIGORY ZULYEVICH PERKEL (RUSSIAN/AMERICAN, B. 1939), EROTIC COMPOSITION - An etching on paper depicting a fantastical erotic composition with intertwined nude figures surrounded by stylized flowers, birds and vegetation. Signed in the plate in Cyrillic ”ГР. ПЕРКЕЛЬ” and apparently dated, additionally signed and inscribed in pencil below the plate. Numbered ”25” in pencil at the upper left of the sheet. The imagery also makes considerably more sense in the context of Perkel's work. He was associated with Moscow's nonconformist/conceptualist artistic milieu before emigrating, and documented graphic works from the early 1970s include surreal and psychologically charged imagery. Dimensions: Artwork: 6 3/4 x 11 in., (17.1 x 27.9 cm.), Paper: 11 1/2 x 15 1/8 in., (29.2 x 38.4 cm.) Condition: Paper with expected light foxing consistent with age. Some wrinkling and small tears to edges, no effect to image. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
