An atmospheric Central Asian street scene depicting figures and riders traveling along a sunlit street in old Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with traditional low buildings and trees beneath a blue sky. Executed in a loose, impressionistic manner with broad, confident brushwork and restrained earth tones accented with areas of vivid color. Inscribed in Russian on the reverse ”А. Кокорин / Старый Самарканд” В старом Самарканде, х/м 34,5 х 44,5. Dimensions: 13 7/8 x 17 1/2 in. (35.2 x 44.5 cm.) Condition: Unframed. Minor surface wear.
