AN OIL ON BOARD PAINTING TITLED ”CONFLICT” BY KRISTIAN TYSKEN, 1941 - Kristian Marius Tysken (Norwegian, 1896-1973), oil on board painting titled ”Conflict” (”Konflikt”), depicting a psychologically charged domestic interior with two seated figures at a table, one covering their face, while a framed portrait appears at left. Executed in an expressive, deliberately simplified manner with a muted palette punctuated by areas of red, blue, green, and yellow. Signed and dated lower left ”Kr. Tysken / -41-.” The reverse inscribed ”Konflikt.” Housed in a giltwood frame. Dimensions: 21 7/8 x 23 7/8 in., (55.5 x 60.5 cm.) Condition: Very good. No apparent signs of restoration.
