AN OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING BEARING A SIGNATURE ”LEYLY 68” - An oil on canvas modernist composition, apparently dated 1968. Executed in a restrained palette of pale blue, deep blue, pink, lavender and cream, with simplified organic and geometric forms suggestive of an abstracted landscape. Bearing a signature and date ”Leyly 68” at the upper right. The signature suggests a possible attribution to Leyly Matine-Daftary (Iranian, 1937-2007). No certificate of authenticity or documented provenance accompanies the work. Dimensions: 16 x 12 in., (40.6 x 30.5 cm.) Condition: Extensive craquelure, lifting, flaking and losses to the paint layer, particularly throughout the lower portion and pink form. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
