A MODERNIST PORTRAIT BEARING A SIGNATURE ”LEYLY 70” - A modernist portrait on paper, apparently dated 1970, depicting a young woman with long black hair and a lace-like headdress, wearing a boldly striped garment. Executed in black, gray, pink and white, with strongly simplified facial features and flattened geometric forms. Bearing a pencil signature and date ”Leyly 70” at the lower right. The signature suggests a possible attribution to Leyly Matine-Daftary (Iranian, 1937-2007). No certificate of authenticity accompanies the work. Dimensions: 11 13/16 × 8 1/16 in., (30 × 20.5 cm.) Condition: Overall good condition. Some toning and scattered foxing or discoloration to the paper, particularly toward the upper portion. Not examined out of the frame.
