AN ABSTRACT MIXED-MEDIA WORK ON PAPER, AFTER BEHJAT SADR, IRANIAN - An abstract mixed-media work on paper in the manner of Behjat Sadr (Iranian, 1924-2009), composed of broad, predominantly black gestural passages alternating with layered horizontal and vertical striations in black, gray and white, with a small red accent. The rhythmic scraping, dragging and layering of pigment are closely related to Sadr's characteristic abstract vocabulary. No COA is available. Dimensions: 13 3/4 x 9 7/8 in., (34.9 x 25.1 cm.) Condition: The sheet shows handling wear and minor edge irregularities. The reverse has a significant area of staining and paper loss or skinning at the lower right, with scattered marks and discoloration. Unframed. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
