A 1977 ETCHING EL GRAN ALBINO BY SALVADOR DALI, SERIES THE CAPRICES OF GOYA - Framed artwork titled El Gran Albino (plate 33) by Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) from the graphic series ”The Caprices of Goya by Dalí”, (Los Caprichos de Goya por Dalí). Drypoint etching with hand colored stencil highlights over an heliogravure base, part of a portfolio of 80 pieces created in 1977, honoring the work of the Spanish master Francisco de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828). This item is part of Dalí's printed masterpieces, for which he had all of Goya's etchings with aquatint from the circa 1799 seminal Los Caprichos series reproduced as heliogravures, subsequently reworking each of the heliogravure plates with his very personal surrealist drypoint additions, which were subsequently embellished with stencil coloring Dimensions: Frame: 32 x26 in.; (81 x 66 cm.), Paper: 17 1/2 x 12 1/4 in.; (44.5 x 31 cm.)
