A PAIR OF REVERSE GLASS PAINTINGS, CHINA, 18TH CENTURY - A pair of Chinese portraits created using the reverse glass painting technique. The portraits depict two aristocratic women in salmon-toned clothing with black trim, all intricately patterned, with one having deep blue undergarments as well. Both are wearing earrings, as well as flowers in their hair. The paintings are kept within partially gilt frames. The details of the clothing patterns, jewelry, and flowers are gilt and silvered. China, 18th century. Dimensions: Each Portrait: 11 1/4 x 8 1/4 in., (28.6 x 21 cm.) Condition: Very good for age, with no significant wear. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
