A ROSENTHAL PORCELAIN PLAQUE ”MONA LISA,” AFTER LEONARDO DA VINCI, GERMANY, CIRCA 1925-1930 - Rectangular porcelain plaque decorated in polychrome with a reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's celebrated ”Mona Lisa (La Gioconda), ” depicting the sitter half-length before a distant landscape. The reverse bears the Rosenthal Germany factory mark and gilt inscription ”Mona Lisa (La Gioconda) von Leonardo da Vinci 1452-1519.” Presented in an elaborate giltwood and composition frame. Dimensions: 12 3/4 x 10 1/2 in., (32.5 x 26.5 cm.) Condition: Overall good condition. Plaque appears intact. No cracks, chips or significant losses. The verso mounting and paper covering show age-related wear and discoloration. Frame with scattered rubbing and minor losses. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
