A RUSSIAN GOLD, DIAMOND AND BLUE GEM-SET MINIATURE EASTER EGG PENDANT, 19TH CENTURY - A Russian Imperial miniature Easter egg pendant, the ovoid body formed from closely wrapped and ribbed gold wire and applied to the front with a stylized flower and curving stem in contrasting yellow gold. The flower is set with two faceted blue gemstones, possibly sapphires, three rose-cut colorless stones, probably diamonds, and a small central stone. The suspension ring bears the Russian Imperial ”56” gold standard and a partially legible maker's mark appearing as Cyrillic ”АН” (AN). Russia, late 19th century. Dimensions: H: 7/8 in., (2.23 cm.) Condition: Good antique condition with surface wear, scratches, oxidation and discoloration consistent with age. Gemstones show expected wear and inclusions. The stones appear retained in their settings. Hallmarks are worn but visible. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
