A 19TH C CAST BRONZE OF AN AFRICAN CAMEL ATT TO ANTOINE-LOUIS BARYE - A 19th-century cast bronze of an African camel with saddle and bridle. A work attributed to Antoine-Louis Barye (1796-1875), based on an original patinated bronze model of Dromadaire Harnache d'Egypte. Signed and stamped ”Barye” and raised on a naturalistic base. This bronze is dated circa 1880, and it is a recast from the original. No visible foundry marks. Dimensions: H: 9 3/4 in., (25 cm.) Condition: Very good. Patina. Normal surface wear.
