A PAIR OF FRENCH NEOCLASSICAL PATINATED AND GILT-BRONZE EWERS, 19TH CENTURY - A pair of French Neoclassical patinated and gilt-bronze decorative ewers, 19th century. Each of elongated ovoid form, the dark patinated body applied with gilt-bronze bands of stylized floral ornament, raised on a spreading circular socle and square plinth. The tall handles are elaborately modeled with classical female mask terminals beneath anthemion and fleur-de-lis motifs, providing a striking contrast between the dark bronze and gilt highlights. Dimensions: H: 17 1/4 in., (44 cm.) Condition: Good condition with expected surface wear, scratches and variations to the patina. Tarnishing and wear to the gilt-bronze details.
