AN EARLY 20TH C LE DEVOIR BRONZE SCULPTURE AFTER EMILE PICAULT - Patinated bronze sculpture of a proud Roman warrior holding some type of short javelin kontos, entitled Le Devoir (The Duty), after the original model by Emile Picault (1833-1915). Nameplate affixed to the front of the base reads LE DEVOIR par E. Picault. At his feet is a shield engraved with Honor Patria (Honor the Homeland). Stamped 250 to back side of base. Dimensions: H: 23 3/4 in., (60.5 cm.) Condition: Very good. Surface wear and age. Patina. Two small holes to face suggest missing nameplate of some kind. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
