AN EMMANUEL VILLANIS FRENCH ART NOUVEAU BRONZE BUST ”FAVORITE,” CIRCA 1900 - A French Art Nouveau patinated bronze bust entitled ”Favorite, ” by Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914), depicting an idealized young woman wearing a medieval-style jeweled crown. Raised on an integral architectural socle cast with the title ”FAVORITE.” Signed ”E. Villanis” to the drapery. The reverse bears the circular foundry cachet ”SOCIETE DES BRONZES DE PARIS, ” together with the initials ”AP” and cast number 9699. France, circa 1900. Dimensions: H: 15 5/8 in., (39.5 cm.) Condition: Very good. General surface wear and patina. The upper round finial is broken and missing. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
