A BRONZE FIGURE OF STANDING BUDDHA HOLDING AN OFFERING BOWL, CIRCA 18TH-19TH CENTURY - A cast-bronze figure of Buddha standing in a long monastic robe, the serene face with downcast eyes, elongated earlobes and tightly curled hair surmounted by the ushnisha. Both hands are extended forward supporting a rounded offering or alms bowl. The figure is modeled in a restrained, elongated manner, with traces of green oxidation and an overall dark brown patina. Mounted on a later fabric-covered display stand. Southeast Asia, possibly Thailand, circa 18th-19th century. Dimensions: Bronze H: 10 in., (25.4 cm.) Condition: Very good. General surface wear and aging. Deep dark patina. Some green spots of oxidation. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
