AN ENGLISH SILVER AND GUILLOCHÉ ENAMEL-MOUNTED CUT GLASS SCENT BOTTLE, BY HENRY CHARLES DAVIS, BIRMINGHAM, 1912 - A small cylindrical scent bottle or vanity jar, composed of a cut crystal base with diamond patterning and a sterling silver collar and cover. The domed lid is mounted with rich purple guilloché enamel over a wavy guilloché ground, creating a vibrant iridescent effect. Maker’s mark: H.C.D (Henry Charles Davis), hallmarks: Birmingham, 1912 (anchor for Birmingham, lion passant for sterling silver, date letter “n” for 1912). Dimensions: H: 2 in., (5 cm.) Condition: Moderate tarnish and surface wear, particularly around the base and edges. Hallmarks remain clear and legible. No visible dents or splits. Beautiful purple guilloché enamel is largely intact, with no apparent chips or cracks. Minor surface scratches may be present under magnification, consistent with age. Clear-cut crystal body in good condition. Minor surface scratches and tiny nicks, particularly at the rim, but no major chips or cracks are visible. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
