A PAIR OF FRENCH ROUGE GRIOTTE MARBLE VASES, 19TH CENTURY - A pair of French carved and polished Rouge Griotte marble vases, 19th century. Each of elegant classical form with a broad flaring trumpet-form mouth above a narrow molded neck, compressed globular body and spreading circular foot. The richly figured deep red marble displays characteristic darker veining and scattered pale fossil-like inclusions. Dimensions: H: 13 1/4 in., (33.7 cm.) Condition: Good antique condition with surface wear, minor scratches, small chips and natural inclusions consistent with age and material. One case has a small chip.
