A GILT-SILVER TURKISH (OTTOMAN) INCENSE BURNER, 19TH CENTURY - The gilt-silver incense burner is of compact baluster form, raised on a circular foot and fitted with a pierced domed cover. The surface is decorated with chased and repoussé floral ornament in the Ottoman taste, with openwork sections designed to release incense smoke. A small knop finial completes the cover, while the gilded finish gives the piece a warm, ceremonial appearance. The object reflects 19th-century Turkish metalwork traditions and was likely intended for domestic or devotional use. Weight: 6.35 oz., 180 gr. Dimensions: H: 4 3/4 in., (12.3 cm.)
