A CHINESE IMARI PORCELAIN PLATE, QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY - A Chinese export porcelain plate decorated in the Imari palette of underglaze cobalt blue, iron-red and gilt. The central medallion depicts a waterside pavilion amid flowering plants and stylized rockwork, accompanied by butterflies and insects, enclosed within a blue line border. The broad rim is painted with alternating sprays of flowering branches and stylized foliate motifs, with a gilt edge. China, Qing Dynasty, probably Qianlong period, 18th century. Dimensions: D: 8 7/8 in., (22.5 cm.) Condition: Age-related surface wear with rubbing and losses to the gilding and enamels. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
