A FRENCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED PORCELAIN ELEPHANT PERFUME BURNER, IN THE CHANTILLY STYLE - Modeled as a white porcelain elephant decorated in polychrome enamels with chinoiserie figures, flowering branches and red harness ornaments, supporting a gilt-bronze capital-form mount and removable porcelain finial. Raised on an elaborate rococo gilt-bronze base cast with scrolling acanthus leaves. French, probably mid-19th century. Dimensions: H: 6 1/4 in., (15.9 cm.) Condition: Very good.
