A CHINESE CHOPSTICK AND KNIFE TROUSSE SET, 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY - A Chinese traveling eating utensil set comprising a pair of chopsticks and a knife fitted with a pale green jade handle and metal collar. The utensils are housed in a fitted, elongated case with a mottled amber-and-dark-brown tortoiseshell-type section and an engraved bone- or ivory-colored panel decorated with figures, foliage, and auspicious motifs. The case is fitted with brass mounts and suspension hardware and retains a decorative knotted cord with a red bead. China, late 19th to early 20th century. Dimensions: 11 1/2 in., (29.2 cm.)
