A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PROPAGANDA PLATE ”THE COMMISSAR”, 20TH CEN. - After the celebrated 1921 design by Alexandra Shchekotikhina-Pototskaya, depicting a Soviet commissar departing Petrograd with a briefcase inscribed ”ДЕЛО” (”Business”). The border bears the inscription ”ПЕТРОГРАД ПРОЩАЙ УХОЖУ” (”Farewell, Petrograd, I Am Leaving”). Bearing imitation Imperial Porcelain Factory and Soviet factory marks, inscriptions and dates on the reverse. Dimensions: D: 9 3/8 in., (23.8 cm.) Condition: No chips, cracks, or restoration.
