A RUSSIAN BRONZE GROUP, E. LANCERAY, 19TH CENTURY - Titled: ”On the Sled”. Cast by N. Shtange after a model by Evgeny Lanceray (1848 –1886), late 19th century. On a shaped oval naturalistic base, realistically cast as a man and a woman bundled up, riding on a traditional Russian sled pulled by two horses. Signed on the base in Cyrillic ”LEPIL E. LANCERAY”, also with the foundry mark ”N. SHTANGE”. Dimensions: L: 21 1/8 in., (53.5 cm.)
