A RUSSIAN SILVER AND PARCEL-GILT PAN-SLAVIC FIVE-PIECE TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE, MOSCOW, 1880 - Comprising a teapot, coffee pot, lidded sugar bowl, cream jug, and bread basket, each with a parcel-gilt interior and raised on a stepped circular foot. The bodies are decorated in the Old Russian style with finely chased and engraved bands of Pan-Slavic geometric, rosette, and stylized foliate motifs, bordered by beaded ornament. The teapot and coffee pot have hinged domed covers surmounted by turned pale finials and angular handles fitted with matching pale insulators. The cream jug, sugar bowl, and swing-handled bread basket are similarly decorated. Variously struck with the Moscow city mark, 84 zolotnik silver standard, assay master’s mark ”И*Е” dated 1880, and Cyrillic maker’s mark ”Р.К.” Weight: 99.2 oz., 2814 g.
