A RUSSIAN SILVER CLOISONNE ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE, 1908-1917 - Probably Moscow, 1908-1917. Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the hinged lid and base are decorated in finely executed cloisonné enamel with scrolling floral and foliate motifs in vibrant shades of blue, green, red, and white, against a gilded ground. The thumb piece is set with a cabochon stone. The interior is gilded, with a partial elastic strap still present. Hallmarks: apparently unmarked, with a later Soviet mark. Weight: 7.1 o., 200 g. Dimensions: 4 1/4 x 2 7/8 x 7/8 in., (10.9 x 7.6 x 2 cm.) Conditions: Good condition, enamel well preserved. Expected light wear and traces of use, consistent with age.
