A RUSSIAN SILVER & CLOISONNE ENAMEL CUP AND SAUCER BY M. SEMENOVA, 1908-17 - Maria Semenova, Moscow, 1908-1917. The cup with a flared foot and shaped scroll handle, together with a matching saucer, both superbly decorated in brightly colored, shaded cloisonné enamel on gilt stippled ground. The decoration features elaborate foliate and floral scrolls in a vibrant palette of pink, blue, green, lilac, and white, all bordered with turquoise beadwork bands. The handle is elaborately enameled with sinuous foliate scrolls matching the body. Hallmarks: maker’s mark ”МС”, 84 Russian silver standard, kokoshnik. Weight: 5.8 o., 164 g. Dimensions: Cup H: 2 1/2 in., (6.5 cm), saucer D: 4 3/8 (11.3 cm.) Conditions: Good condition. Normal wear and traces of use, consistent with age. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
