A RUSSIAN GILT-SILVER AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE, 1893 - Moscow, 1893. Of rectangular form with rounded corners, ornately decorated in polychrome cloisonné enamel over gilt stippled ground with scrolling foliate motifs, stylized flowers, and arabesques, executed in rich shades of turquoise, emerald green, royal blue, lavender, white, and translucent red over stippled gilding. The central roundel on each side encloses a stylized rosette. The edges are decorated with a band of turquoise enamel beads. Gilded interior. Hallmarks: 84 Russian silver standard with assayer's mark dated 1893, illegible maker's mark. Weight: 5.6 oz., 160 g. Dimensions: 3 7/8 x 2 1/2 in., (9.9 x 6.5 cm.)
