A RUSSIAN PARCEL-GILT-SILVER AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL TEA GLASS HOLDER, 1893 - Russia, circa 1900. Of cylindrical form on a spreading circular foot, the body is finely decorated with symmetrical scrolling foliage, flowerheads, and geometric motifs in blue, turquoise, white, red, green, and purple cloisonné enamel against a gilt stippled ground. The front features a blank cartouche. The back is decorated with a geometric rosette. The upper and lower borders feature turquoise enamel arcades, while the spreading foot is decorated with alternating white and pale blue geometric motifs. The tall arched handle is embellished with conforming geometric enamel ornament and joined to the body by openwork foliate supports. The interior is gilt. The hallmarks are: maker's initials: ”IS”, assayers' mark, date: 1893, St. George's mark for Moscow, 84 standard silver proof, scratched inventory number: 41568, silver export hallmarks.
